For our first photography lesson, we completed a Photo Safari. We got into pairs and used the cameras to capture pictures around the school that matched the guide that we were given. My partner and I mainly focused on shape (was it geometric? was it organic?) and space e.g. the amount of negative space, positive space, depth etc. We also had to ask ourselves questions and consider other element such as light, line, tone etc. I enjoyed searching the school and realizing that ordinary benches, pavements and even the Thomas Tallis logo could make good patterns and photos for the task.
WWW: I thought the picture with a light as a circle was effective because it included good use of tone. The contrast between light and dark made the aim of the photo (to display a simple circle) clear.
